ABDULJILILE
FOUNDER & HEAD COACH
Diana Abduljilile brings over 12 years of experience as a dedicated basketball player and coach. She began her career competing semi-professionally for five years in the U-17 Sub City and Addis Ababa Basketball Federation leagues, before playing seven seasons in the Premier League division with the Addis Ababa University Club, where she also served as team captain. Transitioning into coaching, Diana has spent over three years with ABA as both a head and assistant coach, as well as serving as general manager of training sessions. Her leadership and expertise led the U-17 girls team to back-to-back Addis Ababa Federation League championships in 2022 and 2023, and she continues to guide the title-defending squad with passion and commitment.

Diana’s influence on Ethiopian basketball goes beyond her years on the court—she’s helped shape the sport at both grassroots and competitive levels. Known for her leadership as a team captain and her strategic approach to coaching, she’s played a pivotal role in developing young talent, especially through her work with ABA. Her hands-on involvement in training sessions and her dual role as coach and general manager have made her a cornerstone of the academy’s success. The back-to-back U-17 girls championship titles in 2022 and 2023 are a testament to her ability to build winning teams and foster a culture of discipline, teamwork, and growth.

Beyond her local achievements, Diana has expanded her coaching horizons through international exposure. She has participated in high-level training sessions alongside respected global coaches, gaining insights into advanced techniques and player development strategies. Her involvement with NBA Africa—twice—and her recent participation in the Giants of Africa program in Rwanda reflect her commitment to continuous growth and excellence. These experiences have enriched her coaching philosophy, allowing her to bring a global perspective to the academy and inspire young athletes to dream beyond borders.
